View Full Version : SkyVector now has IFR charts online!

SkyVector.com, a site that has long provided very high quality scans of VFR
sectionals, TACs, and Fly charts, has now added low-altitude en-route IFR
charts to its database! High-altitude charts will follow. This is a huge
effort by the site, since IFR charts are available only on paper from the FAA
and are updated very frequently (every 8 weeks).

Of course, these online scans should not be used for real-world navigation
(wink, wink), but SkyVector is very good at keeping all its scans absolutely
current.

And since you don't fly, why should any of this matter to you?

All that does is fill their trash folder.

Because the same site is also very useful for simulation. I know, however,
that many real-life pilots use it (even though they technically should not
depend on it).

Nobody ever says "I'm throwing this away."
